Position Summary
The Chief Medical Officer (CMO) oversees the clinical operations of our Primary Care Clinic, Same-Day Walk-In Clinic, Behavioral Health Clinic, and Red Feather Clinic. The CMO will be responsible for providing high-quality medical care to patients, supervising advanced practice providers, and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and standards. The ideal candidate will be a compassionate and experienced physician dedicated to serving the healthcare needs of our community.
Essential Duties
- Provides primary care services to patients, seeing an average of 6-8 patients per day.
- Reviews and approves provider notes for Nurse Practitioners (NPs) and Physician Assistants (PAs) to ensure accuracy and compliance with clinic protocols.
- Collaborates with other healthcare professionals to develop and implement patient treatment plans.
- Monitors the quality of patient care and outcomes, identifying areas for improvement and implementing strategies to enhance care delivery.
- Provides leadership and guidance to clinical staff, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.
- Ensures compliance with all relevant regulations, including those set forth by the Indian Health Service (IHS), Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), and other governing bodies.
- Participates in ongoing professional development activities to stay abreast of advancements in medical practice and healthcare delivery.
- Collaborates with the clinic administration to develop and implement strategic initiatives to improve patient care, enhance operational efficiency, and achieve organizational goals.
- Represents the Clinic in meetings with community stakeholders, tribal leaders, and other healthcare organizations.
- Performs other duties as assigned by the Clinics Administrator or CEO.

Working Conditions
Outpatient clinic setting. Monday through Friday, no weekends. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to odors and airborne particles, and the potential risk of airborne pathogens. Exposure to body fluids and viruses is also a potential hazard of this job. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
