What are the responsibilities and job description for the Math Instructor / Tutor position at Mathnasium of Powell?
Mathnasium of Lewis Center, OH and Mathnasium of Powell, OH is currently looking for individuals who are exceptional at Math and love teaching kids. We love Math and are looking for enthusiastic tutors to help children understand Math like never before! We have several positions open for our Centers.
Instructor: Multiple Positions. Learn Mathnasium methodology and teach kids using teaching techniques. We have F/T and P/T openings. We expect a minimum of 2-day schedule and maximum of 5-day schedule.
Skills: Should be proficient to tutor kids from 2nd grade to high school (pre-calc)
Pay: With Mathnasium, individuals get a consistent number of hours in a month including Summer. Our pay is very competitive.
Selected candidates will go through online, in-person hands-on and shadow training before putting on the job.
Instructor Characteristics:
Facilitator: Instructors must move smoothly from one student to another and be able to keep track of multiple instructional lessons going on concurrently.
Math Expert: Instructors must be passionate about math and have high skills through Algebra I and Geometry. Instructors who work with high school students must also excel in math through Algebra II, Trig, and Pre-Calculus. Instructors must be willing to complete training successfully and learn and apply new pedagogy to teach the Mathnasium Way.
Engaging: Instructors must interact well with students and be able to explain things clearly and concisely. Instructors should be able to inspire students to do well, establish a fun learning environment, and consistently demonstrate enthusiasm in teaching math.
Professional: Instructors must interact with parents, students, and co-workers in a friendly but professional manner at all times and establish a high level of confidence and program value with Mathnasium families.
