Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and skilled CMM Operator to join our quality control team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing dimensional inspections using Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM) to ensure that our products meet stringent quality standards. This role requires a strong understanding of schematics, GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing).
Duties
- Operate Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM) to conduct precise dimensional inspections of components and assemblies.
- Interpret engineering drawings and schematics to determine inspection criteria.
- Utilize software for programming and data analysis during inspections.
- Ensure compliance with quality control processes and documentation.
- Perform routine maintenance on CMM equipment to ensure optimal performance.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to provide feedback on tooling and design improvements based on inspection results.
- Maintain accurate records of inspection results, including any non-conformances or deviations from specifications.
- Assist in training new team members on CMM operation and quality control processes.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a CMM Operator or in a similar role within a manufacturing or quality control environment.
- Strong knowledge of dimensional inspection techniques and quality control methodologies.
- Proficiency in using PC-DMIS and PolyWorks software for CMM programming and data analysis.
- Familiarity with CAD software for interpreting designs and schematics.
- Understanding of GD&T principles to accurately assess component tolerances.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
- Attention to detail with strong analytical skills for problem-solving.
