responsibilities:
- Maintaining a safe plant and work environment.
- A role model of safety and quality of work.
- Training mechanics and operators.
- Floor to ceiling maintenance, Facilities, production equipment and required grounds.
- Root cause analysis on mechanical and electrical breakdowns.
- Maintaining and improving corrective and preventative maintenance efficiencies.
- Maintaining a clean work area and shop
- Assist with parts planning for corrective, preventative and project maintenance tasks.
- Rotating on call and working overtime as the needs of the company predict.
- Delivery to schedule and quality objectives.
- The ability to work with key stakeholders - their feedback will be the primary measure.
- The ability to work with minimal supervision.
qualifications:
Required
- High school or trade school diploma
- Minimum of 7 years' experience in a factory maintenance environment
- Exceptionally skilled as a welder/fabricator, electrician, plumber, millwright, painter, maintenance machinist, and or mason
- Concentration in at least one of the following areas: welding, pipe fitting or basic electrical.
- Ability to understand wiring diagrams and troubleshoot electrical circuits.
- Expert mechanic with the ability to rebuild, repair and troubleshoot complex mechanical equipment.
- Current, active driver's license.
- Operator controls and interfaces.
- PLC Troubleshooting.
- Instrument Calibration.
- Mechanical aptitude to work with other Maintenance Personnel.
Preferred
- Knowledge of PLC software and ladder logic for troubleshooting and Operator Interfaces a plus.
- Requires own tools, (electrical and mechanical).
Position Demands
Conditions are that of a manufacturing environment:
- Air Temperatures can range from cold to hot.
- The atmosphere may contain dust, fumes, and odors.
- May include mechanical, electrical, chemical, explosive and radiation hazards.
Employees are required to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) including:
- Safety shoes (steel toe or composite toe)
- Safety Glasses
- Bump Caps
- Protective Gloves, when performing certain tasks
- Hearing Protection, when required.
- Other personal protective equipment as required for certain tasks.
While performing the duties of this job the employee must meet the physical demands:
- Be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds.
- Be able to push or pull heavy objects up to 250 pounds.
- Be able to work 12-hour shifts.
- Perform repetitive tasks.
- Routinely stand, sit, hear, walk, and talk.
- Reach, climb, bend, kneel, crouch, twist, and balance, sometimes in awkward or tight spaces.
- Have good close vision, depth perception, and the ability to focus.
