Job Title: Oracle Database Administrator (Contract, 1-3 Years, Potential for Full-Time Conversion)

Project Overview: Our client is seeking an experienced Oracle Database Administrator to support a critical migration project involving two major applications—Electronic Check Processing (ECP) and the Over the Counter (OTC) Network—to Azure GovCloud. These applications, which process approximately $750 billion annually, are currently hosted on-premises in a U.S. government data center and will be migrated to a secure, cloud-based environment.
This role is focused on cloud migration efforts, primarily centered on Oracle database management and Azure cloud technologies. The successful candidate will play a key part in modernizing critical infrastructure, providing services to U.S. government locations both domestically and internationally (e.g., U.S. military bases, passport offices, post offices).
Key Responsibilities:
- Administer, deploy, maintain, and set up new Oracle databases in Azure GovCloud.
- Lead the migration of Oracle databases from on-premises to Azure Cloud environments.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth transition and system integration.
- Provide ongoing support and optimization for cloud-based Oracle databases.
- Manage large-scale database environments, ensuring reliability, security, and scalability.
- Participate in Agile project teams to support migration goals and timelines.
Required Skills:
- 8 years of experience administering, deploying, and maintaining Oracle databases.
- 5 years of experience working within an Azure Cloud environment.
- Extensive experience with database migration and integration within cloud-based systems.
- Strong understanding of Oracle database management in both on-prem and cloud environments.
- Proven expertise with Azure Cloud technologies, specifically within GovCloud.
- Solid understanding of cloud migration strategies and execution.
Preferred (Nice to Have) Skills:
- Experience working with Oracle DBs on Linux OS.
- Familiarity with Oracle 19c and experience with the DMS (Database Migration Services) tools for Oracle database migration.
- Experience with Agile methodologies in project delivery.
- Experience with cloud migrations involving large-scale, mission-critical applications.
Contract Duration:
- 1 to 3 years with potential for full-time conversion based on performance and project needs.
