Job Title: Scrum Master
Overview: Our fortune 500 client is seeking a skilled Scrum Master to support its dynamic teams working on critical modernization and security projects. The Scrum Master will guide teams towards successful project delivery, ensuring smooth implementation of Agile methodologies within an environment transitioning from Waterfall to Agile frameworks, including SAFe. The Scrum Master will play a pivotal role in driving team collaboration, maintaining project timelines, and facilitating continuous improvement.
Project Scope: You will work on a high-visibility Mainframe Modernization project, along with various Security initiatives, supporting Fiserv's partnerships with bank clients who have oversight on the technical and project management processes. This role demands a high degree of resilience and the ability to collaborate with a diverse range of stakeholders and teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Scrum Facilitation: Facilitate Scrum ceremonies including Daily Stand-ups, Sprint Planning, Sprint Reviews, and Retrospectives.
- Agile Coaching: Guide team members and stakeholders on Agile best practices, ensuring Scrum principles and values are adhered to.
- Collaboration & Coordination: Foster communication between cross-functional teams, product owners, and other stakeholders, ensuring alignment and timely delivery of project milestones.
- Continuous Improvement: Help teams to identify opportunities for process improvement, ensuring teams evolve through the sprint cycles.
- Risk & Issue Management: Proactively address and resolve obstacles and risks, ensuring minimal disruption to the sprint.
- Reporting: Track sprint progress and metrics (velocity, burndown charts, etc.), providing stakeholders with insights on project status.
Required Skills & Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in project management or Scrum Master roles, with a proven track record of facilitating Agile teams.
- Strong understanding of Scrum methodologies and Agile practices, with experience transitioning teams from Waterfall to Agile or working in hybrid environments.
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal), with the ability to engage various stakeholders and manage conflicting opinions.
- Ability to work effectively in a high-pressure environment, with a tolerant and resilient approach to working with challenging clients.
- Experience in leading teams with a Waterfall methodology, with a comfort in transitioning to Agile methodologies.
- Familiarity with SAFe (Scaled Agile Framework) is a plus.
- Basic knowledge of cloud infrastructure and its impact on Agile processes is preferred.
Preferred Qualifications:
- PMP and/or SAFe certifications.
- Experience in the financial industry.
- Modernization project experience is a plus.
- Military background is a strong plus, as the team values resilience, leadership, and experience working in challenging environments.
