Position Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Account Director to join our advertising and public relations agency - Multicultural experience is essential. The Account Director is responsible for overseeing an account team, including direct management and mentoring, as well as contributing to brainstorming and initiation of integrated program development for clients. This individual is responsible for managing and growing client relationships, and expanding services / business, on one or more client accounts. The ideal candidate will have a proven record of maintaining ultimate accountability for client satisfaction, increasing account revenue and overall growth, and will bring experience as a team leader. The responsibilities of the Account Director are as follows :
Client Focus
May own the client relationships at the mid to mid-senior level within clients’ organizational hierarchies
With SVP, responsible for setting and managing client account expectations
Oversee integrated marketing strategy development for assigned account(s), including the development of key alliances and advocacy that align with clients’ brands and support the client's business objectives
Maintain primary responsibility for the quality, strategy, and integrity of all assigned agency products / services delivered to assigned clients, resulting in the cultivation of client intimacy, client loyalty and retention and organic growth opportunities
Engage clients regularly to evaluate the success or failure of projects and initiatives, and plan for course correction and / or continual success as appropriate
Identify opportunities for growth within existing client accounts currently managed and present / position new ideas to clients continuously. Seek opportunities to upsell and cross-sell within the account to generate additional revenue
In conjunction with SVP manage profit and loss responsibility for assigned clients, as well as financial forecasting and SOWs
Demonstrates significant knowledge of client industry landscapes and is comfortable playing an agency partner / support role within client teams
Internal Focus
Develop metrics and rationale for each account plan; provide ongoing consultation regarding strategy; and develop fees and budget allocation for agency services (SOWs)
May be asked to participate in new business
With Creative Director / Creative team and Director of Production / Project Management, contribute to the development of creative and related project timelines and budgets
Act as lead in the hiring and training of Account team and development of individualized career plans, providing ongoing feedback, and conducting performance evaluations with direct reports
Ensure clear, ongoing internal communication regarding client and brand strategies, strategic insights pertaining to the client’s business / industry, trends, initiatives, issues, and competitive intelligence, or similar to multidisciplinary team members. Inspire the team to consistently deliver superior client solutions that meet or exceed clients’ goals / expectations
Establish and maintain a thorough knowledge of client organization, competitive landscape, target consumers / audiences, stakeholders, products, etc.

Exceptional interpersonal and communications skills with an out-going client-centric disposition
Demonstrate ability to lead a team in a highly collaborative environment to develop and advocate strategies to support and achieve client business objectives
A strong, strategic client-centric orientation, and the ability to form long-term relationships with mid-to-senior level partners within client organizations
Ability to motivate and lead others in the development, direction, and execution of initiatives including market research, media planning, creative development, production, public relations, social engagement, etc.
Demonstrate budget management experience for client projects, including prior experience developing fees and budget allocation
Strong strategic, analytical skills and effective problem-solving skills. Must also be able to exercise positive judgment to assess situations, evaluate options, make decisions, and draw conclusions
Excellent presentation and communications skills (written and verbal) including proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint Excel) or similar along with TEAMs required
Other Qualifications
7 - 10 years of relevant professional experience; Multicultural Marketing essential
Experience in Healthcare, Public Sector, Travel / Tourism, CPG, Automotive highly desired
Bachelor’s degree is required; an advanced degree in business is a plus
Minimum of one (1) year of prior staff management, development, and mentoring experience preferred
Self-starter with ability to work independently / remotely manage a team
Demonstrated track record of expanding business with existing clients (upselling); and experience supporting new business initiatives required
