Internship Overview:
This internship offers students a unique opportunity to immerse themselves in the dynamic world of construction. Interns will have the chance to work in one of three departments—Estimating, Project Management, or Business Development—based on their interests and skills. Under the guidance of experienced professionals, you will gain hands-on experience and valuable insights into both the construction industry and the federal contracting process.

Application Information:

• Application Deadline: February 3rd, 2025
• Internship Duration: 3 months, with potential for extensions based on performance and project needs
• Weekly Commitment: Interns must work at least 10 hours per week, in-office.

Roles and Responsibilities:
Responsibilities will vary slightly by track but will generally include:

• Active participation in assigned departmental tasks and initiatives.
• Collaboration on key projects to support company objectives.
• Adhering to Matos’ core values and delivering a final presentation summarizing key learning outcomes.

Department-Specific Focus Areas:

• Project Management: Subcontractor coordination, site oversight, and project scheduling.
• Estimating and Preconstruction: Bid preparation, cost estimation, and proposal development.
• Business Development: Client engagement, market research, and CRM entry.

Qualifications:

• Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a degree program in Construction Management, Engineering, Business, or a related field.
• Interest in construction, federal contracting, or business development.
• Authorization to work in the United States.
• Strong organizational, collaborative, and communication skills.
• Proficiency in basic office software (e.g., Microsoft Office, Google Workspace).
