Matrix Composites, Inc., located on the Space Coast in Rockledge, Florida, designs and manufactures high-quality, complex composite products using state-of-the-art processes and lean manufacturing methods. We are seeking an experienced, hands-on Controller to join our team. Founded in 1993, Matrix is in the growth sector of the aerospace industry, serving the needs of aero and defense prime contractors. This position is a full-time, primarily in-office position.
The controller’s primary responsibilities include:
- Preparation of accurate and timely financial statements on a monthly basis under Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
- Monthly balance sheet account reconciliations and accurate coding of P&L transactions. Some clean-up of past transactions needed.
- Develop, implement, and maintain a system of materially accurate job costing, including inventory and work-in-process management
- Cash flow management
- Accounts receivable billing, cash receipts, and assistance on collections
- Accounts payable processing and payment
- Weekly payroll processing
- Employee benefits administration
- Corporate insurance policies procurement and administration
- Preparation and filing of sales and payroll tax returns
- Preparation of annual 1099s and W-2s
- Ensuring confidentiality of company and financial information
- Monthly sales tax reporting
- Other duties assigned by the CEO/COO
Desired education, skills and experience:
- 5 years strong experience and proficiency in accurate GAAP accounting, including general ledger, accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, and benefits administration is required
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field
- Oracle and Epicor ERP system experience highly desired
- Advanced QuickBooks and Microsoft Office experience and knowledge required; QuickBooks Time experience preferred
- Proven manufacturing and job costing experience
- Notary Public preferred
- Honesty, integrity, trustworthy, dependable, team player
- Strong problem solving and analytical skills
- Exhibits the ability to communicate professionally and positively with internal and external clients using both written and oral communication
- Strong project management, organizational, team development and time management skills, including the ability to multitask
- Ability to work effectively and be self-directed in completing job responsibilities with an exceptional attention to detail and positive attitude
Compensation Package Includes:
- Competitive salary: $90,000 - $120,000, depending on experience and skill set
