Matrix Design Group, Inc., an employee-owned planning, engineering, and environmental consulting firm is actively seeking a Director of Civil Engineering in our San Antonio office. This role requires a strategic thinker with excellent leadership abilities and a strong track record of delivering complex projects successfully. The director would be responsible for business development activities to facilitate growth in alignment with company goals. Priorities for this position include existing client relationships and experience within the greater San Antonio area.

Salary Range: $145,000 to $180,000 annually. Salary will be dependent upon experience.
Essential Functions:
- Development and execution of marketing and business plans.
- Develop, maintain, and expand the client base through relationships, referrals and networking.
- Oversee the organization and writing of major proposals and statements of qualification.
- Maintain an active participation in selected professional societies.
- Overall project direction and communications with project teams and clients
- Ensure that high-quality management, administrative, and technical service is provided.
- Manage scope, schedule, and budgets to meet company objectives.
- Maintain project backlog data and accounting information for project profitability.
- Partner with other leaders across Matrix to assist on multi-disciplined projects.
- Lead marketing efforts, proposal development, and contract negotiations for the group.
- Generate new client sales to Matrix at annual targeted rates.

- Self-directed practitioner with strong project management and project delivery skills.
- Outstanding client and personnel skills and the ability to persuasively communicate at all levels.
- Technical expert in team building, writing, proposal development, cost estimating, and program management.
- Must be able to work effectively as a leader in a group environment and maintain positive relationships with team members and clients.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Suite, AutoCAD and Civil 3D software.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Lead, mentor, motivate, and develop a team of civil engineers and designers.
- Foster a collaborative and innovative work environment.
- Effectively manage manpower resources to ensure on time delivery of project deliverables.
Education and Experience:
- Undergraduate or graduate degree from an accredited program in civil engineering.
- Texas Professional Engineering (PE) licensure.
- Minimum of ten (15) years of progressive comprehensive land development experience.
- At least five (5) years of demonstrated project and program management experience.
- At least five (5) years of significant supervisory and leadership experience.
- At least three (3) years of experience in business development and client management.
- Valid driver's license, in conjunction with successfully passing the Company’s MVR.

Salary : $145,000 - $180,000
