Matrix designs, manufactures, and sells innovative technological products that help keep people safe. Originally focused on the underground coal mining industry, Matrix has expanded into new industrial markets in the United States and globally.
We are currently seeking a skilled Systems Administrator to oversee, manage, and support a diverse set of enterprise applications critical to our business operations. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining the performance, security, and integration of various platforms, including Atlassian Suite, Smartsheet, Microsoft 365, Arena, SolidWorks, Altium, Salesforce, and other business-critical applications. The Systems Administrator will work closely with IT, Engineering, and Business teams to ensure optimal system performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement improvements that enhance operational efficiency. This position works in a team environment at our home office in Newburgh, IN. This is not a remote position.
This position works directly with the Senior Systems Administrator and reports to the Director of Software Integration and Development.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Application & System Administration
- Manage and maintain enterprise applications, ensuring availability, security, and optimal performance.
- Administer and configure Atlassian Suite (Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket) to support project management and collaboration.
- Support Smartsheet users, managing licensing, permissions, and integrations.
- Maintain Microsoft 365 environments, including Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive, and Power Platform.
- Oversee and support Arena PLM to facilitate product lifecycle management.
- Administer SolidWorks PDM and Altium for engineering design and document control.
- Manage Salesforce administration, including user roles, workflows, and data integrity.
- User Support & Troubleshooting
- Provide technical support and training to users across departments.
- Investigate and resolve application-related issues efficiently.
- Assist in onboarding and offboarding employees, ensuring proper access to applications.
- Security & Compliance
- Implement and enforce security best practices, including access controls and data protection.
- Ensure applications comply with internal policies and industry regulations.
- Monitor system logs and respond to security threats and vulnerabilities.
- Integration & Process Improvement
- Identify opportunities to integrate applications for streamlined workflows.
- Work with stakeholders to automate processes and enhance efficiency.
- Develop and maintain system documentation, SOPs, and best practices.
- Upgrades & Maintenance
- Coordinate system updates, patches, and upgrades.
- Test new application features before deployment to production.
- Monitor system performance and resource utilization, making recommendations for improvements.
Qualifications & Competencies
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 3 years of experience in systems administration, IT support, or a similar role.
- Proficiency in administering and supporting Atlassian Suite, Smartsheet, Microsoft 365, Arena, SolidWorks and Altium.
- Experience with administering Salesforce.
- Experience with user management, security settings, and application integrations.
- Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to diagnose system and software issues.
- Excellent communication and documentation skills.
