Accounting Manager

Are you looking to join a newly created AI start-up? If so, this Accounting Manager position is for you! This business is well-funded and in the process of becoming revenue generating. This position will be the primary accounting/financial contact for the business. We are seeking an individual who enjoys being hands-on and within the transactional detail. This role will report to the CFO of a larger parent company which funds the start-up business. This is hybrid position which requires a candidate to live locally and work in-office most days of the week (parking provided). Some WFH days are permitted, but in-office is preferred due to the collaborative environment.

A growing stealth AI start-up in Bellevue is seeking a highly skilled Accounting Manager to oversee daily accounting operations and play a key role in helping the business become revenue generating. Reporting directly to the CFO, this role is ideal for a hands-on aspiring leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is eager to make a tangible impact.

What You’ll Do:

• Lead and mentor a team of two accountants, driving efficiency and process improvements.
• Oversee daily accounting operations, financial statement preparation, and internal/external audits.
• Manage bank reporting and support strategic financial decision-making with executive leadership.
• Own the monthly close process, including journal entries, reconciliations, and accruals.
• Ensure compliance with accounting policies and enhance operational workflows.
• Handle corporate accounting functions, including loan accounting, general ledger, and reporting.

What We’re Looking For:

• 5 years of accounting experience, ideally several years in a start-up environment juggling competing priorities.
• Strong technical skills in general ledger, reconciliations, journal entries, and operational accounting.
• Proficiency in QuickBooks and advanced Excel.
• Leadership mindset with a proactive, solutions-driven approach.
