What are the responsibilities and job description for the Assistant Controller position at Matrix Finance and Accounting?
Incredible opportunity for an Indvidual that is looking to join a team where they can contribute & make an impact on day one. The Assistant Controller role will report directly to the CFO and will have exposure to a wide variety of responsibilities.
Responsibilities:
- Support general accounting and financial reporting activities including month-end close, financial consolidation, quarterly reporting.
- Provide revenue analysis and accounting including weekly bookings & sales updates, deferred revenue analysis & adjustments and forecast modeling to management.
- Support cost accounting including maintenance of standard costs, analyzing and reporting production variances, maintaining overhead rates and updating accruals and/or reserves for inventory, warranty and sales returns.
- Provide financial analysis and decision support to sales and operations on spending, investments and build versus buy analysis.
- Provide system expertise in the support of sales and manufacturing operations including product maintenance, work center and cost center setup.
- Ensure all sales and manufacturing related balance sheet accounts are reconciled properly, show true financial position, and are reviewed by Finance management.
- Ensure compliance with both internal finance policy and US GAAP.
- Contribute to the annual planning process and develop and administer budgets, schedules and performance dashboards.
- Support day-to-day requests from Sales, Operations and Finance for financial analysis and reporting as needed. Assume other projects and assignments as directed by management.
- Be a change agent for improving business processes, establishing standard work/procedures, upgrading systems/technology and driving cost reductions.
Requirements:
- Experience in a high technology and discrete manufacturing environment in an operational controllership, financial consolidation and reporting role.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in general and/or cost accounting capacity for a single or multi-site manufacturing operation.
- Experience implementing and utilizing accounting functions within a major ERP system.
- Proficient in utilizing data query, analysis and reporting tools.
- Strong leadership and management skills with ability to work effectively in direct and cross-functional teams.
- Strong organizational and interpersonal skills with interest in building strong business partnering relationships; high integrity and self-confidence.
- Proficient in using financial and manufacturing ERP systems, IFS a plus.
- BA or BS, preferably in Business, Finance, or Accounting
- CPA, a plus
Salary : $125,000 - $150,000
