Are you a hands-on engineer with expertise in CAD design and custom rigging / lifting structures ? MATRIX is seeking a Senior Project Engineer to lead high-complexity nuclear projects across the U.S., focusing on the design, planning, and execution of heavy-lift operations . In this role, you'll not only drive project success but also apply your technical skills in CAD to develop precise design drawings for custom rigging and lifting solutions . This is a unique opportunity to blend engineering design with real-world application , ensuring the safety, compliance, and efficiency of critical nuclear projects.

We're looking for an experienced professional with nuclear power generation, heavy rigging, and lifting operations expertise , who is also highly proficient in CAD software and design engineering . Candidates must have a strong background in developing custom rigging and lifting structures , with the ability to create detailed technical drawings that meet strict safety and regulatory standards.

This position is based in Memphis, TN , with travel to project sites as needed-your first assignment will likely be in San Luis Obispo, CA . Remote work arrangements may be considered for highly qualified candidates. Additionally, applicants must pass background screening and drug testing to obtain unescorted access to a U.S. nuclear facility . Responsibilities

Project Planning & Engineering

• Develop and oversee detailed plans for heavy-lift operations, including rigging, load path analysis, equipment selection, and contingency strategies.
• Conduct structural analyses and ensure feasibility and compliance with nuclear safety standards.
• Prepare and submit technical documentation and specifications for approval by engineering and regulatory bodies.
