Matrix Providers is hiring a Physician Flight Surgeon to join our team of talented professionals who provide health care services to our Military Service Members and their families at Luke Air Force Base in Glendale, AZ.
- Employment Status: Full-time
- Compensation: This is a salaried position, paid bi-weekly OR This is an hourly position, paid bi-weekly.
- Schedule: Monday thru Friday 0630-1730
The Physician Flight Surgeon must have the following qualifications:
- Degree/Education: Degree: Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) or Doctor of Osteopathy (D.O.).
- Certifications current in Provider CPR : (through American Red Cross or American Heart Association)
- Experience: Successful completion of a minimum of 6 years active-duty U.S. military Flight Surgeon experience is desired.
- Certification : Current board certification/Board eligible is desired. Board certification in Aerospace Medicine, Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, Emergency Medicine, Occupational Medicine, or Preventive Medicine is preferred but others will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis.
- Licensure/Registration: Current, full, active, and unrestricted license to practice medicine.
Job Summary:
- Perform a full range of physician services in accordance with privileges granted by the MTF.
- Direct, perform, or assist in the clinical instruction of other health care professionals within the scope of the clinical privileges or responsibilities.
- Examine, diagnose, treat or prescribe courses of treatment within the scope of training, experience, and privileges.
- Provide preventive and health maintenance care, including annual physicals, positive health behaviors, and self-care skills through education and counseling.
- Order diagnostic tests as applicable as well as request consultation or referral with appropriate physicians, clinics, or other health resources as indicated.
- Technically proficient in clinical directing and teaching other medical staff, providing educational lectures and participating in the provision of in-service training to clinic staff members. Such direction and interaction will adhere to Government and professional clinical standards and accepted clinical protocols.
