The Matrix Sciences Laboratory in our Sherwood, Oregon location provides pesticide residue testing for clients throughout the country and internationally. It serves the agricultural and environmental communities testing needs with a comprehensive range of capabilities and services.

Summary/Objective

- Perform analytical testing of food & ingredients, plant tissue samples and soil & water using gas and/or liquid chromatography.
- Identify, communicate, and document non-conformities with instrumentation and methodologies, and assist with troubleshooting, assessment of root case and subsequent implementation of corrective actions.
- Perform routine and non-routine instrument maintenance and troubleshooting
- Participate in quality system activities, including maintenance of test and training records.
- Ensure sample turnaround time goals and other key performance indicators are met.
- Review & revision of controlled documents and procedures
- Participate in internal and external audits related to ISO 17025:2017 accreditation status.
- Under the direction of senior staff, conduct method validation activities including documentation and communication of results and status.
- Identify and assist with implementation of process improvements
- Adhere to lab safety procedures and reporting standards.
- Follow written Standard Operating Procedures and Work Instructions.
- Other duties may be assigned to assist with the operations of the lab.
- The general schedule for this position is Monday through Friday, 8am to 4:30 pm.

Required Education and Experience
- Bachelor's Degree in Sciences, preferably Chemistry. Relevant laboratory experience may substitute for educational requirements.
