The Matrix Sciences Agriculture lab in our Tulare, CA location performs testing of soils, plant tissue, irrigation water, manure/compost, and animal feed materials.
Why it matters:
This facility provides lab and field services throughout the Central Valley and Western state region. The analysis provides valuable data for agronomists, viticulturalists, animal nutritionists and ecologists to evaluate and advise the Ag Industry to manage crop production inputs, to benefit food quality and limit environmental impact.
Role Summary:
The Seasonal Field Technician will be responsible for the collection of agricultural samples throughout the region. This position must ensure that the sample is collected correctly and from the correct location, while properly managing their time each day.
What you’ll do:

- Collecting agricultural samples correctly and in a timely manner.
- Label collected samples correctly to ensure the prep department can properly identify and login samples.
- Verify drop box samples are all present and have proper paperwork if available.
- Communicate with the manager on field conditions, situations, and discrepancies.
- Communicate with the manager on status throughout the workday and at the end of the workday when they are headed back to lab and every sample was completed.
- Supports and complies with all Company policies, Quality Systems and Health & Safety programs.
What you have:
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Establish & maintain good working relationships with team.
- Positive outlook with the ability to adapt to a changing environment.
- Ability to walk long distances.
- Lift/carry soil samples as walking. (5-10lbs).
- Sitting in car for extended periods of time.
- Valid driver’s license.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work:
This is a seasonal full-time position, hourly non-exempt. The schedule for this position is M-F 6am-3pm, with occasional Saturdays. Required daily overtime during the busy season. Schedules may be adjusted according to business needs. The duration of the seasonal role is April-October.
