Job Overview:

We are looking for skilled and dedicated Line Cooks to join our culinary team at Bastards Canteen. As a Line Cook, you will play a key role in ensuring the quality and consistency of our food offerings.

Responsibilities:

1. Food Preparation:

   - Execute food preparation tasks according to recipes and established standards.

   - Ensure all ingredients are fresh, properly portioned, and prepared in a timely manner.

   - Follow proper food handling and sanitation guidelines.

2. Cooking and Assembly:

   - Cook and plate dishes according to menu specifications and presentation guidelines.

   - Monitor cooking times and temperatures to ensure food safety and quality.

   - Collaborate with kitchen team members to coordinate the timing of orders.

3. Quality Control:

   - Conduct regular checks on the quality of ingredients, ensuring they meet the restaurant's standards.

   - Address any discrepancies or issues with the kitchen management team promptly.

4. Cleanliness and Organization:

   - Maintain a clean and organized work station throughout the shift.

   - Assist in the overall cleanliness of the kitchen, including equipment and utensils.

5. Adherence to Recipes:

   - Follow recipes and cooking procedures accurately to maintain consistency in flavor and presentation.

   - Collaborate with the head chef to update and improve recipes as needed.

6. Communication:

   - Communicate effectively with other kitchen staff to coordinate tasks and maintain a smooth workflow.

   - Notify management of any shortages, equipment malfunctions, or quality concerns.

7. Compliance with Health and Safety Standards:

   - Adhere to health and safety guidelines, including proper food storage, handling, and sanitation.

   - Participate in regular training on safety procedures and new cooking techniques.

Qualifications:

- Proven experience as a Line Cook or in a similar role.

- Knowledge of various cooking methods, ingredients, and kitchen equipment.

- Ability to work in a high-pressure, fast-paced kitchen environment.

- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
