Restaurant Server (Part-Time)

Job Overview:

We are seeking enthusiastic and customer-focused individuals to join our team as Restaurant Servers at Bastards Canteen. The ideal candidate will have a friendly demeanor, excellent communication skills, and a passion for providing exceptional service to our guests. As a Restaurant Server, you will play a crucial role in ensuring a positive dining experience for our patrons.

Responsibilities:

1. Customer Service:

   - Greet guests in a friendly and welcoming manner.

   - Provide attentive and personalized service to meet the needs of each customer.

   - Make menu recommendations and answer questions about the food and beverages.

2. Order Taking and Accuracy:

   - Take accurate food and beverage orders from customers.

   - Enter orders into the POS system promptly and ensure accuracy in item selection and modifications.

   - Communicate special requests or dietary restrictions to the kitchen staff.

3. Timely Service:

   - Serve food and beverages promptly, ensuring a smooth and timely dining experience.

   - Monitor table turnover and coordinate with kitchen and bar staff to optimize service.

4. Upselling and Promotion:

   - Suggest additional items, specials, or promotions to enhance the dining experience and increase sales.

   - Familiarize yourself with the menu to effectively promote featured dishes.

5. Table Maintenance:

   - Ensure that tables are set appropriately and have all necessary condiments and utensils.

   - Clear and reset tables efficiently, maintaining a clean and organized dining area.

6. Payment Processing:

   - Present checks to customers and process payments accurately.

   - Handle cash and provide change, or process credit card transactions.

7. Knowledge of Restaurant Policies:

   - Stay informed about restaurant policies, including specials, promotions, and any changes in menu items.

   - Uphold hygiene and safety standards, following all health and safety regulations.

Qualifications:

- Previous experience as a server in a restaurant or hospitality setting is preferred.

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.

- Positive attitude and a commitment to delivering outstanding customer service.

- Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
