What are the responsibilities and job description for the Maintenance Technician position at Matthew Dutton Associates?
Responsibilities:
- Machine repair and preventative maintenance on PLC systems, controls, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment.
- Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance of industrial machinery, including printing presses, packaging converting equipment, laminating equipment, material handling equipment and slitting equipment, to ensure safe and optimal performance.
- Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical issues promptly to minimize downtime.
- Support production operations by ensuring machinery and equipment are maintained and repaired efficiently.
- Must be able to work independently and adhere to established safety standards.
- Interpret work instructions, work orders, read tape measure (standard and metric) and read other operational materials
- Complete work order entry and close-out in the Maintenance work order system.
- Collaborate with the maintenance team to develop and implement maintenance strategies.
- Strictly adhere to all safety protocols and procedures to maintain a safe working environment.
- Participate in safety training programs and contribute to a culture of safety within the organization.
- Identify and report potential safety hazards and take immediate corrective actions when necessary.
- Other duties as assigned.
About You:
- 5-10 years maintenance experience in a manufacturing/industrial setting required.
- Knowledge and experience troubleshooting, programming and evaluating PLC’s and drives is a must.
- Experience in industrial electrical panels, electrical machinery, and motor controls.
- Experience with printing presses, packaging converting equipment, and slitting equipment is highly desirable.
- Read/ analyze/ interpret technical procedures, electrical schematics, and service manuals to perform required maintenance and service.
- Ability to inspect equipment, recognize potential problems, and proactively take appropriate corrective action to prevent component failures, or equipment downtime.
- Excellent oral and computer communication skills.
- Ability to work well with others as well without direct supervision.
- Ability to define and solve problems.
- Willingness to work flexible hours including overtime and weekends.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $30.00 - $37.00 per hour
