What are the responsibilities and job description for the Tool Crib Attendant position at Matthew Warren Industries, Inc.?
JOB SUMMARY
The Tool Crib Attendant would be responsible for helping in various tool making process that are vital to the department. The Tool Crib Attendant will assist in repairing and building machine shop tools using machine equipment and measuring instrument. They would participate in apprentice or on the job training program.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Coordinates efforts as part of the team to aid all functional departments as needed to maximize production efficiencies
- Organizes and maintains detailed inventory of dies/tooling in the toolroom.
- Assigns toolroom locations for all new dies/tools.
- Assist tooling fabrication for production
- Checks tooling when they come in.
- Reviews daily tooling and die needs per production schedule
- Assembles tool kit for production
- Pulls dies from inventory for new runs.
- Put tool/dies back into inventory after run is complete or scrap as needed
- Requisitions supplies and maintains accurate inventory of tooling needed.
- Maintains a clean and safe work area.
- Provides monthly update of current dies/tools and purges obsolete tools from inventory.
- Performs other job duties and assist toolmaker as assigned.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Blueprint reading required
- Strong organizational skills.
- Problem Solving, multitasking, communication, time management, attention to detail.
- Knowledge of computer programs to design and craft tools.
- Requires a basic understanding of materials and heat treatment operations.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Experience using various machine tools.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Must be able to stand, stoop and lift to 40 lbs.
- May have prolonged periods sitting at a desk or walking around the plant
- The employee will be required to communicate with others and work in a noisy environment.
