About Us
Matthews Bus Alliance is the Thomas School Bus dealer for the State of Florida. The duties of this position will be performed at Rifled Air Conditioning, which is owned by Matthews Bus Alliance.
Description of the role:
We are looking for a DOE certified inspector to lead up a small team to include a School bus inspector/Radio installer/School bus technician.
They must be able to inspect the school buses and work with the team to make any repairs, usually minor, needed prior to the delivery of the buses to the customer in Florida.
They must have the ability to use diagnostic computer programs.
We work on the Thomas body, Freightliner Chassis, Cummins engine and basic wheelchair lifts. We do not work on internal engines or transmissions.
Work is performed under limited supervision and reports directly to the Service Manager.
Valid, Clean drivers license, background check and drug test required.

- Inspect, Diagnose and Repair School Buses
- Document work and repairs performed
Qualifications:
- Doe certification at the time of application is a must!
- 2 years of previous experience as a Bus inspector/mechanic
- Knowledge of diagnostic and repair equipment
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
- Deadline and detail-oriented
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to access a variety of storage spaces and shelving units by stretching, squatting, and reaching.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at a time.
- Must be able to work in a variety of weather conditions and temperatures.
