Architect
POSITION SUMMARY
The Architect manages the architectural services of the Division, building mausoleums. This position plans and designs the development of mausoleums per client’s specifications, photos and building examples.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Oversees all projects including reviewing, correcting and approving proposal’s and construction drawings.
- Meets with prospective and established clients and representatives, answers questions pertaining to design and building code concerns/issues.
- Travels to job sites, attends project meetings, clarifies construction drawings with field personnel and inspects construction.
- Researches and prepares building permit applications and determines permit fees and responds to plan reviewers and/or code officials.
- Plans, directs, and coordinates activities of employee(s) to ensure goals or objectives are accomplished. Mentors, coaches, trains and develops team.
- Additional duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s Degree in architectural studies, construction management or related field
- National Council of Architectural Registration Boards (NCARB) – for multi-state registrations required
- Architectural Registration (w/ “Home State”) required
- 5 negotiating and managing Design consultant contracts experience
- 10 years supervisory and management experience in Design-Build of commercial projects; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- 5 years in a leadership role
- Routine travel either locally, nationally, and/or internationally may be required.
- Knowledge of national and local building codes.
- Knowledge of AutoCAD or other computer aided drawing system(s)
- Ability to interpret and apply building codes
- Familiar with AIA documents
- Understand and able to manage various engineering consultants
- Basic degree of proficiency in MS Office Suite, Outlook & Internet applications.
- Strong analytical, prioritizing, interpersonal, problem-solving, presentation, budgeting, project management (from conception to completion), & planning skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills (including analysis, interpretation, & reasoning).
- Ability to develop and maintain collaborative relationships with peers and colleagues across the organization, as well as, internal and external clients.
- Ability to work well autonomously and within a team in a fast-paced and deadline-oriented environment.
- Ability to work with and influence peers and management.
- Self-motivated with critical attention to detail, deadlines and reporting.

- Regularly required to stand; walk; sit; use hands and fingers, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk, hear and see.
- Regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
