POSITION SUMMARY
The Mgr – Maintenance directs and coordinates activities of workers engaged in repair, maintenance, and installation of machines, tools, and equipment. This role manages the maintenance of buildings, grounds and utility systems by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate supervisors.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Reviews job orders to determine work priorities.
Schedules repair, maintenance and installation of machines, tools and equipment to manufacture new products or improve existing products,
Directs maintenance activities of utility systems to provide continuous supply of heat, steam, electric power, gas, or air required for operations.
Develops preventative maintenance program in conjunction with engineering and maintenance staff.
Reviews production, quality control and maintenance reports and statistics to plan and modify maintenance activities.
Inspects operating machines and equipment for conformance with operational standards.
Plans, develops and implements new methods and procedures designed to improve operations, minimize operating costs and effect greater utilization of labor and materials.
Reviews new product plans and discusses equipment needs and modifications with design engineers.
Requisitions tools, equipment and supplies for operations.
Directs training and indoctrination of workers to improve work performance and acquaint workers with company and procedures.
Plans, directs, and coordinates activities of employee(s) to ensure goals or objectives are accomplished. Mentors, coaches, trains and develops team.
Additional duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related field
Advanced degree (MBA, Master’s) preferred
8 years progressive maintenance experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience
5 years in a leadership role
Periodic travel either locally, nationally, and / or internationally may be required.
Basic degree of proficiency in MS Office Suite, Outlook & Internet applications.
Strong verbal and written communication skills (including analysis, interpretation, & reasoning).
Basic understanding and application of mathematical concepts.
Ability to develop and maintain collaborative relationships with peers and colleagues across the organization, as well as, internal and external clients.
Ability to work well autonomously and within a team in a fast-paced and deadline-oriented environment.
Ability to work with and influence peers and management.
Self-motivated with critical attention to detail, deadlines and reporting.
Possess a mechanical aptitude; ability to use a large variety of hand tools and basic knowledge of power tools, forklifts, welding equipment, and cutting torch.

Occasionally exposed to wet and / or humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, extreme cold & heat, risk of electrical shock, and toxic or caustic chemicals.
