POSITION SUMMARY
Matthews International is now hiring an Engraving / Embroidery Operator for our Billerica, MA Service Center.
Matthews International is a world wide leader in casket manufacturing, providing the highest quality wood, metal and cremation caskets, as well as urns and other products to our funeral home customers.
The Engraving and Embroidery Operatorat Matthews International is responsible for programming and operating specialized equipment to personalize caskets with precision and care. This includes programming engraving machines for exterior designs and embroidery machines for interior panel customization.
No prior embroidery experience is required, as detailed training will be provided. This role combines technical skills and creativity to deliver high-quality, meaningful products that meet customer specifications and uphold our reputation for excellence.
Work Schedule : Monday - Friday, 10am - 6 : 30pm.
Weekly Hours : 40 Hours a week.
Starting Pay : $22 hourly starting pay rate with a $2,000 bonus (1,000 after 90 days, 1,000 after 180 days).

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Operate Laser Engraving machine for Personalized engravings on exterior of caskets using automated computer programming and equipment (will train on computer program).
- Set up casket and Engraving machine in proper position for engraving process.
- Manually inspect engraving design after engraving process.
- Operates Embroidery machines to create customized memorial panels for casket interior.
- Will work with Fabrics, Automated embroidery machine, staple gun, glue gun and cardboard mount.
- Responsible for cutting excess trim from cardboard mount to required size.
- Additional duties as assigned.
