The Sr Process Engineer is responsible for developing, enhancing, and implementing systems that increase efficiency and optimize all phases of service or production process, from design to manufacturing.
Job Responsibilities
- Oversees process design projects and ensures the efficient and safe functioning of all the processes related to producing a product, substance, or service.
- Designs processes and equipment related to the development and commercialization of products or services that are cost effective and within budget.
- Evaluates existing processes, suggests measures for improvement, and configures manufacturing systems to reduce cost, improve sustainability, boost productivity, quality, and profitability, and develop best practices within the production process.
- Implements methods and process designs, creates prototypes, tests, and makes necessary modifications where required.
- Conducts tests on systems for efficiency and accuracy until a quality and cost-effective production process is implemented successfully.
- Works closely with other professionals such as scientists and other engineers on development and research projects.
- Researches and purchases new manufacturing technology and works in collaboration with the engineering department to improve production equipment functionality.
- Additional duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s Degree in engineering, chemistry, or material science or related field
- Advanced degree (MBA, Master’s) preferred
- 6 years of previous process engineering experience;
- Or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Occasional travel either locally, nationally, and/or internationally may be required.
- High degree of proficiency in MS Office Suite, Outlook & Internet applications.
- Strong analytical, prioritizing, interpersonal, problem-solving, presentation, budgeting, project management (from conception to completion), & planning skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills (including analysis, interpretation, & reasoning).
- Solid understanding and application of mathematical concepts.
- Ability to develop and maintain collaborative relationships with peers and colleagues across the organization, as well as, internal and external clients.
- Ability to work well autonomously and within a team in a fast-paced and deadline-oriented environment.
- Ability to work with and influence peers and management.
- Self-motivated with critical attention to detail, deadlines and reporting.
- Regularly required to stand; walk; sit; and talk, hear and see.
- Regularly/Occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
