Buyer / Planner

The Buyer / Planner oversees the planning and scheduling of production lines, ensuring they meet product demand, plant capacity, customer orders, and inventory targets. This role involves coordinating resources, monitoring production progress, and adjusting schedules to align with changing needs and priorities.

Requirements of the Buyer / Planner

Bachelor's degree in a related field is preferred.
At least 5 years of experience in a manufacturing setting, with a focus on material planning, distribution, production, and scheduling.
Strong mathematical skills, including the ability to perform algebraic calculations.
Proven ability to analyze data, including querying, data manipulation, and identifying trends.
Familiarity with ERP systems (experience with Made to Manage is a plus, but not required).
Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.

Responsibilities of the Buyer / Planner

Extract and input data from the ERP system into Excel, ensuring ongoing accuracy and updates to the production schedule.

Analyze plant capacity and use mathematical calculations to assess if the production schedule is achievable.

Ensure the production schedule aligns with sales plans and inventory goals, factoring in lead times, lot sizes, and safety stock.

Generate and deliver key reports tracking departmental KPIs, such as inventory levels and reports on aged or obsolete materials.

Communicate any issues related to manufacturing performance as needed.

Plan and manage customer forecasts for purchased finished goods.

Manage inventory levels of critical parts / products, aiming to minimize working capital costs and avoid obsolescence.

Support product development by ensuring all necessary materials are available to meet launch requirements.

Maintain relationships with key suppliers to eliminate production constraints and ensure objectives are met.

1st shift, DIRECT HIRE

Pay is $80,000 - $95,000 annually, based on experience
