POSITION SUMMARY:
The Data Engineer will report to the Senior Manager, DevOps and work within Mattr’s DevOps vertical. The position will be responsible for contributing to the development and maintenance efforts of the DevOps team. Specifically, this position will be responsible for the Development and Maintenance of SQL queries and integrations from Mattr’s source systems. This position will lead the development of source queries and creation of Extract, Transform, and Load solutions to a standardized and harmonized central repository system. These initiatives may require, in addition to SQL, the development of APIs, Scripting language code, and/or leveraging 3rd party tools such as Azure Data Factory and Microsoft Power Platform.
The Data Engineer may be asked to develop skills and expertise on toolsets not identified above as the business requests dictate. These potential toolsets will remain within the purview of the extraction of data, or movement of, between Mattr’s source systems, and their reporting requirements.

DUTIES:
- Develop TSQL queries as a means of extraction of critical business data from source systems.
- Develop ETL solutions as a means of automating above TSQL queries.
- Be first line of support / ownership of centralized data repository. This closely aligns with typical Database Administrator roles.
- Perform discovery meetings with business sponsors to correctly identify source data and document specific business processes as they may impact data extraction.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues in a timely manner.
- Write clean, well-documented code for all development.
- Participate in code reviewed and ensure code quality.
- Provide technical support to customers and internal stakeholders.
- Explore and recommend new technologies and tools.
- Deliver Training on developed solutions and assist with support for above mentioned duties.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field is preferred.
- Minimum 3 years of IT experience
- 5 years of previous work experience / educational experience with Microsoft SQL Server is required.
- 3 years of experience working with IFS Enterprise Resource Planning Software is required.
- 3 years of experience working with IFS ERP backend tables and views is required.
- 3 years of experience with Microsoft Windows operating system is highly desired
- 3 years of experience with Microsoft Power Platform’s Power BI or Microsoft Azure is preferred.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Power Platform Power Apps and Power Automate is preferred.
- Working knowledge of APIs is preferred
- Working knowledge of scripting languages, such as PowerShell, is preferred.
- Possesses knowledge of best practices for maintaining information security
- Can handle confidential and sensitive company information responsibly.
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
- Possesses ability to think creatively to devise customizations for varied business use cases.
- Understand the workflow and process requirements of complex application systems.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to effectively interface with technical and nontechnical staff at all organizational levels
