Day Porter - Maui Humane Society

We are hiring a part-time Day Porters to ensure cleanliness and maintain a welcoming environment on our campus, with shifts scheduled to cover all days of the week. The Day Porter will be responsible for cleaning and maintaining restrooms, public areas, and other high-traffic locations, upholding a high standard of cleanliness, and addressing maintenance issues as needed.

Key Responsibilities:

• Clean and sanitize restrooms, including sinks, toilets, mirrors, and floors.
• Replenish restroom supplies such as soap, paper towels, and toilet paper.
• Sweep, mop, and vacuum floors and hallways throughout the campus as needed.
• Dust and wipe down surfaces, including trash cans, signs, tables, desks, windowsills, and ledges.
• Empty trash and recycling bins and replace liners.
• Clean and disinfect high-touch surfaces, such as doors and door knobs.
• Monitor the cleanliness of common areas and clean as appropriate.
• Perform spot cleaning of spills or messes in a timely manner.
• Report maintenance or repair needs, such as broken fixtures or equipment, to the Facilities Manager.
• Provide excellent customer service by being approachable and responsive to campus team members and guests.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations at all times.

Qualifications:

• Previous experience in a similar cleaning or custodial role is preferred but not required.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Physical stamina to stand, walk, bend, and lift for extended periods.
• Ability to operate cleaning equipment (e.g., vacuum, mop, etc.).
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks.

Work Environment:

• This role involves physical activity, including walking, standing, bending, and lifting.
• Work may be performed indoors and outdoors in a variety of weather conditions.
• Must be comfortable working in high-traffic areas and interacting with campus team members and guests.

Schedule:
The hours may be flexible, at 3 days a week - ultimately looking for Mon, Tues, Wed; however, please inquire or offer your availability.

Benefits possible with 20 hrs/week.
