SUMMARY:
Under the supervision of the Chief Finance Officer; is responsible for general ledger accounting functions including the preparation of financial statements and reports. Assists Finance Director in preparing contract budgets and budget revisions; assists with periodic analysis of spend-down on contracts; informs the Financial Director of potential problems observed during the course of daily work; and presents solutions within the scope of the specific area of responsibility.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Responsible for monthly and annual closing of the books and financial statements preparation to provide management and funders with accurate, meaningful and timely information. Prepares bank and investment account reconciliations, records expense allocations, accruals, general and adjusting entries for monthly close. Oversees the recording of contract revenue.
2. Maintains and updates cash schedules daily, including six month cash projections.
3. Oversees all bank deposits, both remotely and going to bank in person, as necessary.
4. Updates and reconciles the balance sheet accounts monthly.
5. Assists with preparation of quarterly expenditure reports to funding agencies.
6. Updates and maintains fixed asset/depreciation schedule.
7. Reviews and approves payables prior to check preparation; reviews payroll journal entries prior to posting
8. Responsible to assist Chief Finance Officer in developing and implementing annual budget; analyzes budget variations.
9. Assists Chief Finance Officer with preparation of audit schedules and assisting with auditor requests.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
1. Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or similar business field from an accredited university or college preferred.
2. Minimum of three years of accounting experience required or equivalent on the job experience.
3. Proficient in Sage 100, Windows, Word and Excel preferred.

Pay: $75,000.00 - $95,000.00 per year
