Maul Foster & Alongi, Inc. (MFA) is looking for a full-time Civil or Environmental Engineer to join our Seattle, WA team. With at least 5 years of experience, you’ve built a strong technical foundation. Now, you’re ready to expand your impact: leading projects, collaborating directly with clients, and helping shape work that truly matters. At MFA, you’ll find support, autonomy, and a team that values your growth.
We’re especially interested in engineers with experience and enthusiasm in stormwater design, environmental remediation, or site development. A general curiosity about land use planning, brownfield redevelopment, or industrial cleanup is also a great fit for the types of projects we tackle.
As a Civil or Environmental Engineer, you will…
- Lead and support the development of engineering designs, specifications, and permitting documents
- Assist with contractor bidding and selection
- Participate in construction oversight and field work, including quality control and quantity calculations
- Prepare technical reports and proposals
- Manage your own projects and contribute to larger efforts, including scopes, schedules, budgets, and client communications
- Review technical work for accuracy and consistency
- Work directly with clients and regulatory agencies
- Collaborate across disciplines—sometimes leading, sometimes supporting
- Seek input when needed and share knowledge to help others grow
To thrive in this role, you must have…
- BS in civil engineering or environmental engineering.
- EIT or PE license (or ability to obtain in Washington within 3 months)
- At least 5 years of relevant experience and continued professional development
- Interest in working in the consulting environment on projects involving site development design, brownfield redevelopment, environmental remediation design and stormwater system and treatment design.
- Strong organizational, technical, and communication skills.
- Proficiency in Civil 3D, MS Word, and Excel.
- Ability to effectively work as a team member, both individually and collaboratively, delivering a project successfully to a client within the scope, schedule, budget
- A valid driver’s license and willingness to do occasional field work
- Ability to perform physical tasks in outdoor environments
A plus if you have…
