Maumee Valley Country Day School is seeking a creative, detail-oriented, and strategic Marketing and Communications Specialist to develop and implement marketing strategies that enhance the school's visibility, promote enrollment, and engage the school community. A good candidate is a creative storyteller able to tailor the message to the audience and has experience in content creation, social media management, brand management, and digital marketing, with strong writing, editing, and communication skills.
This position reports to the Director of Community Engagement and collaborates closely with the admissions and advancement teams, as well as faculty, and staff. Key Responsibilities and Duties:

Develop and execute marketing campaigns across various platforms, including digital, print, and social media - Create compelling content for the school’s website, newsletters, magazine, social media channels, and promotional materials
- Maintain and enhance the school’s brand identity through consistent messaging and visual standards
- Collaborate with departments to support enrollment, fundraising, and community engagement goals
- Manage social media accounts, track performance metrics, and adjust strategies as needed
- Assist in the planning and promotion of school events and activities
- Capture and edit photos and videos for marketing purposes
- Meet performance goals established as part of the annual performance planning process or as the result of organizational planning
- Actively engage in personal and professional work in support of the school’s diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives
- Work independently with minimum supervision
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the supervisor
Skills and Competencies:

Excellent written and verbal communication skills - Strong organizational and project management abilities
- Proficiency in social media platforms, content management systems, and design software (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite, Canva)
- Ability to work collaboratively and adapt to changing priorities
- Creative thinking and problem-solving skills
- Experience with photography, videography, and multimedia editing is a plus
Credentials:

Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, or a related field - Minimum of 2 years of experience in marketing, communications, or a related area
- Experience in an educational setting is preferred but not required
