What are the responsibilities and job description for the Senior Lawyer position at Maurice Blackburn?
We are seeking an energetic, client-focused Senior Lawyer to join our friendly and experienced Browns Plains and Ipswich teams on a full-time permanent basis. With a diverse client base, the work is challenging and rewarding with excellent career development opportunities.
If you love sharing your expertise, workshopping complex legal problems, advising on strategy and supporting the next generation of aspiring lawyers this role is for you. You’ll play an instrumental role in developing the technical skills of those around you and ensuring our clients are provided the best legal service and secure the best outcomes. This is true mentorship, in that you aren’t directly responsible for the performance of the lawyers you mentor, they have a direct supervisor.
In addition, you’ll manage a portfolio of matters across work, road and public liability. The matters you handle will be some of the more complex matters across the teams providing you with significant reward at the end of each day.
This role is primarily based in our Browns Plains office, with some visits to our Ipswich office occasionally required.
The experience we are looking for
- 5 years of experience within Workers' Compensation, Public Liability and Compulsory Third-Party claims;
- Demonstrated proactive approach to file management;
- Excellent interpersonal skills with experience providing high level client service;
- A passion for sharing knowledge and coaching aspiring lawyers;
- Experience working in a high-volume work environment;
- Unrestricted Practicing Certificate is desirable;
- Demonstrated litigation experience;
- Demonstrated capacity in executing business development.
