What are the responsibilities and job description for the 25/26 School Year: Bus Driver position at Maury County Public Schools?
FT BUS DRIVERS will receive hourly compensation (4 hrs per day) and receive Medical and Dental Benefits at no cost
PT BUS DRIVERS will receive hourly compensation (4 hrs per day)
If you do not have your CDL Drivers License the department will train you and help you obtain one
Job Overview: Responsible for ensuring the safety of the children that you are driving to and from school and events.
Job Functions:
- Is familiar with and abides by all local, state, or federal traffic laws, rules, and regulations.
- Transports students over specified routes according to time schedule.
- Maintains discipline when students are on bus and reports any student misconduct to principal of the school the student attends.
- Performs daily mechanical checks on oil, gas, tires, lights, and doors.
- Reports to the bus garage for needed repairs.
- Cleans his/her bus each day as needed to keep it in a clean and neat condition.
- Reports all accidents promptly and completes required reports.
- Transports only authorized students.
- Assumes responsibility for knowing and following the safety rules and proper procedures associated with the responsibilities of the job.
- Checks at the end of every run to ensure that all students have left the bus.
- Shall not use profanity or tobacco in any form when students are being transported; nor be under the influence of any intoxicating drink or drug.
- Maintains confidentiality
- Performs other duties as assigned.
