What are the responsibilities and job description for the 25/26 School Year: CTE Business Teacher position at Maury County Public Schools?
Job Overview: The Business Management teacher will be responsible for courses related to the business field.
The courses prepare students for careers in planning, organizing, directing, and evaluating business functions essential to efficient and productive business operations.
The business teacher will also be responsible for sponsoring an active Career and Technical Student Organization (CTSO) through FBLA (Future Business Leaders of America) which enthusiastically competes in local, regional, state, and national skills competitions and events.
The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining a "Quality Program of Study" as
directed by the TDOE CCTE Department, maintain compliance with state and federal funding
requirements, and provide complete, compliant, and on-time Size, Scope, and Quality Indicators
(SSQI) documentation on a yearly basis. The principal may assign extra co-curricular duties,
meetings, committees, and professional development throughout the school year.
Job Functions:
- Planning lessons on business management in accordance with students' learning objectives.
- Preparing the classroom by gathering and setting up equipment.
- Teaching business management course s and courses related to the field of business to students.
- Conducts and maintains a highly organized and professionally functioning classroom.
- Maintains ongoing curriculum evaluation and development to meet the needs of students.
- Collaborates with other faculty in the delivery of appropriate instructional approaches.
- Implements curriculum and instruction in a manner consistent with TN State standards including understanding, modeling and encouragement of independent thinking skills, creative problem solving and abstract reasoning.
- Shows empathy and understanding of students.
- Proactively resolves problems that might arise with students and parents.
- Facilitates parent/student/teacher conferences.
- Continues professional development.
- Follows policies established by the Maury County Public School Board and Tennessee State Department of Education.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
- Attend a one-week New CTE teacher training if applicable
- Enroll in Educator Prep Courses at an approved university offering the following endorsement: Business Education 6-12 (Endorsement Code 152) if applicable
