Summary of Position:
This position will perform light mechanical assembly work of moderate to high complexity. Assembly/Detail procedures may involve adjusting, trimming, labeling, bagging and fitting parts to moderately close tolerances, working with parts or components that are difficult to handle, and other skills that require good dexterity and facility in the use of a variety of hand tools. Some electrical and RF testing will be required to confirm proper assembly and conductivity readings are within specifications. Work is not typically repetitive, but the cycle of repetition may be short enough to allow the development of some habit patterns. A Component Assembler/Detailer will work from detailed blueprints, assembly sketches, or other input documents of similar complexity. May make minor procedural decisions in fitting and adjusting of parts, labels, etc., but always within established guidelines. A level I & II assy/detailer will be starting out and learning the process, but a Level III is expected to understand the process, how to apply learned skills and possess the talent to assemble/detail/troubleshoot all components/accessories. A level-IV will also possess leadership qualities, as well as the skills to train and mentor others. Pay is based on the level the candidate can demonstrate.
Essential Functions of the Position:
- Using kitted parts, assembles product according to specific procedures.
- Evaluate/repair calibration and gage kits per customer requirements.
- Assemble assorted gage and calibration kit boxes according to specific procedures/drawings and filling the kits with the specified product to complete the work order.
- Detail, label, validate pin depth and other requirements per procedures/drawings.
- Review customers returned calibration kits history, structure, issues that are not called out on procedures/drawings.
- Review mechanical/electrical testing of Bingo Sheets for all UC, AC, and CC calibrations before submitting them to Senior Engineer for approval.
- Check Calibration Reports for format and specifications, and make edits if necessary before sending them to customers.
- Engrave assorted product according to specific procedures/drawings.
- Required to train new and lesser-skilled assemblers as needed.
- Troubleshoot assemblies and identify non-conforming piece parts
- Report problems, discrepancies, anomalies in a timely manner to supervision/engineering
- Work directly with Engineering to develop and improve assembly processes.
- Soldering of pc boards, wires and through holes according to specific procedures.
- Final inspection/detail of all products to ensure the integrity and quality before shipping to the customer.
- Use of inspection tools (gage kits, calipers, and height gages).
- Verifies conformance of finished work piece to customer needs according to planning and work order.
- Complies with MMC quality systems, including correctly completing all related documents.
- Uses planning software to prioritize work.
- Build/solder/crimp electro-mechanical devices E.g., circuit boards, wire harnesses, RF devices.
- Help out management with miscellaneous administrative duties as required.

- Close Vision (clear vision at 20 inches or less)
- Knowledge and experience using measuring gauges (e.g., micrometers, calipers).

Experience and Education:
- High school diploma or GED required
- Minimum three years of experience in an electronic testing environment
- Minimum three years of experience in light mechanical assembly of small parts
