JOB SUMMARY:
The Compliance Manager collaborates closely with the Chief Compliance Officer to enhance the effectiveness of the compliance program at Maury Regional Health. This role entails managing the MRH privacy program, overseeing compliance auditing functions, and handling the daily operations of all compliance department activities. This position also requires collaboration with management, employees, providers, as well as external consultants and vendors at various levels.
KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Training and Education: Designs and delivers comprehensive training programs and materials for MRH employees,
providers, and contractors to ensure compliance awareness and best practices.
Policy Development and Implementation. Reviews, develops and updates policies, procedures, and processes
to ensure alignment with regulatory and operational guidelines.
Privacy Oversight. Oversees the organization’s privacy program, ensuring proper handling of patient data
and adherence to privacy laws, internal policies, and best practices.
Audit and Monitoring Oversight. Manages the internal and external auditing and monitoring processes, identifies
risk areas, establishes audit priorities, and ensures the timely, efficient, and effective completion of audits.
Investigations. Leads investigations into potential privacy breaches compliance violations, or policy
Infractions, working with Human Resources to recommend appropriate accountability measures and managing
follow-up actions for proper resolution.
Research and Analysis. Conducts thorough research and analysis to ensure compliance with applicable regulatory
guidelines and industry standards.
Risk Management: Identifies compliance risks within the organization, recommends mitigation strategies,
And ensures the proper implementation of these strategies.
Special Project Management. Organizes and manages special projects and reviews as directed by the Chief
Compliance Officer and Chief Legal Officer, ensuring timely and effective execution.
Reporting Systems Management. Manages and serves as the system administrator and subject matter expert for
Privacy, compliance, audit, and sanction check information management systems, ensuring maximum utilization
Of resources for comprehensive and efficient reporting.
Continuous Improvement. Analyzes compliance program effectiveness, recommends improvements, and stays
Informed about evolving healthcare regulations and industry standards to maintain a high level of compliance
Within the organization.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Certification/Licensure
Certification in Healthcare Compliance Preferred
Certification in Healthcare Privacy. Preferred
CPC, CCS, RHIT, or RHIA coding certification Preferred
Education
Bachelor’s in healthcare Preferred
Experience
5 Years Healthcare compliance experience Required
5 Years of Experience conducting compliance and privacy related audits and investigations. Required
Experience in overseeing follow-up activities related to audit/investigation findings. Required
Working knowledge of HIM and Information Technology a plus Strongly Preferred
