Position Summary:
The Production Worker, Labourer is under the direction of the shift supervisor and will primarily be responsible for destruction of incoming products using established production procedures, following safety protocol and adhering to company’s quality standards.
Responsibilities:
- Demonstrates ability to meet production standards on specific assignments within required time
- Maintains good housekeeping and clean work areas in assigned space
- Performs all assignments in accordance with safety specifications, instructions, and requirements
- Responsible for safety and quality throughout production
- Responsible for notifying a Production Lead or Supervisor when they step off the line to ensure safety and quality standards are maintained
- Reports all production waste/issues to Production Lead or Supervisor
- Performs other duties as required by Supervisor or Manager
- Follows all company policies and procedures
Requirements:
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Experience working in a Manufacturing Environment
- Ability to work in a fast paced environment
- Understand plant safety guidelines and pass all required safety training
- Must be able to understand verbal and written instructions
- Troubleshoot problems and report issues
- Must work well in team environment
Physical Requirements:
- Use of hands and fingers to perform job function.
- Use of power tools, ex. Sawzall, drill, bandsaw, robot.
- Ability to stoop, kneel, bend and climb.
- Ability to lift to 42lbs
- Ability to push, tip raw totes, that could weigh up to 150lbs.
- Plant facility runs 5 days, a week, 2 nd shift base schedule is 3pm to 11:30pm Monday to Friday, excluding designated holidays or prearranged shut down.
- Currently scheduled extended hours 1pm to 11:30pm.
- Line production is constant flow.
- Ability to be on feet consistently 8-hours up to a 12-hour day per scheduled shift.
- Overtime is mandatory when required, may be extending the 8hr shift, or working a 6 th day on Saturday.
- Walking during this standing time in work cell, continuous rotation based on area assigned.
- Repetitive turning & twisting during production based on area assigned.
- Use of hands and fingers to perform job function with hand tools as needed up to full scheduled shift.
- The work environment is inside, however not temperature controlled. Exposed to both heat and cold depending on the daily weather conditions outside.
- The ability to wear all required personal protective equipment for the position they are assigned to each day. This equipment can include some or all: hard hat, ear plugs, safety glasses, face shield, steel toed boots, cut resistant gloves, cut resistant sleeves, apron, and/or Tyvek suit
