Job Description:
- The Mechanical Coordinator plays a crucial role in providing coordination, technical support, and troubleshooting for the Commissioning and Start-Up
- This position is responsible for overseeing and optimizing mechanical commissioning and start-up across a range of equipment, including pumps, motors, gearboxes, and agitators
- The Mechanical Coordinator will provide valuable input during the construction phase to ensure that the equipment meets the needs of the Maintenance and Operations Team
- In this role, the Mechanical Coordinator will direct contractors to ensure that equipment has been properly commissioned and prepared for Operations personnel, adhering to the project schedule
- The Mechanical Coordinator will serve as the first line of technical support to contractors during the commissioning and start-up phases, and will act as a Technical Subject Matter Expert (SME) if field machining is required
- Collaboration with Operations will be essential to start up the equipment and place it into service, performing function testing and validations to ensure that the equipment operates as designed
- Additionally, this role will involve providing training and coaching to area contractors to enhance their knowledge regarding new assets included within the project
- Coordination with Site Predictive Maintenance Teams for validations and testing of new equipment, such as Vibration, Oil Analysis, and Flow Measurement, will also be part of the responsibilities
- Lastly, the Mechanical Coordinator will serve as the Quality Assurance Representative for all rotating equipment commissioning and start-up activities
- Serves as Mechanical Technical Support SME for Rotating Equipment Commissioning and Start-up personnel
- Will escalate issues if required based on complexity of issues
- Directs Craftsmen to ensure work is completed in line with the project schedule, to eliminate delays impacting start-up
- Provides input on System Turnover Walks to ensure equipment has been constructed in a way that is safe and reliable and meets Maintenance and Operations requirements
- Provides technical support for start-up of equipment and performance testing of rotating equipment during the start-up phase
- Provides training and coaching to the area contractors to improve the knowledge base as they relate to new assets included within this project
- Coordinates with Site Predictive Maintenance Teams for validations and testing of new equipment, which may include but not limited to, Vibration, Oil Analysis, Flow Measurement, etc
- Serves as Quality Assurance Representative for all rotating equipment commissioning and start-up activities
- NDE Certification is preferred
