Job Summary:
Seeking an experienced Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) Administrator to manage and maintain the Motorola PremierONE CAD system for the Emergency Services. The CAD Administrator will be responsible for ensuring system integrity, operability, and accessibility while providing technical support, training, and troubleshooting for emergency personnel.
Key Responsibilities:
- System Administration & Maintenance
- Administer and maintain the CAD system (Motorola PremierONE), including installation, configuration, updates, and licensing management.
- Perform periodic system maintenance, patching, and database backups on physical and virtual servers.
- Ensure proper integration of the CAD system with other emergency response tools such as GIS, radio communication systems, and airport security systems.
- Technical Support & Troubleshooting
- Provide technical support and training to emergency services personnel, resolving software, hardware, and integration issues.
- Troubleshoot system performance issues, identify root causes, and collaborate with Motorola Technical Support, vendors, and other teams to resolve critical system incidents (P1).
- Assist in diagnosing and triaging issues with third-party interfaces, ensuring timely resolution.
- Optimization & Efficiency
- Optimize CAD workflows to improve emergency response times and operational efficiency.
- Identify areas for improvement and work with emergency services, IT, and operations teams to implement necessary configurations.
- Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain up-to-date documentation on system configurations, procedures, best practices, and troubleshooting guides.
- Develop and implement training materials for emergency dispatch users.
- Provide regular reports on system performance, issues resolved, and improvements made.
- System Upgrades & Technology Recommendations
- Research and recommend new CAD technologies and tools to enhance performance, usability, and integration with other systems.
- Assist with upgrade planning, installations, and maintenance.
- Support in GIS mapping and ensure all system dependencies and connections are understood and documented.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Emergency Management, or related field.
- Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in CAD administration, particularly with Motorola PremierONE or similar CAD systems.
- Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in CAD system management and troubleshooting.
- Experience with GIS mapping, radio communication systems, and integration with airport security systems.
- Familiarity with scripting and automation (Python, SQL) is a plus.
- Knowledge of CAD-related integrations such as Viper E911, Fire RMS, Fire station alerting, Call recording systems, and more.
- Problem-Solving & Communication:
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and training abilities to support end users.
Preferred Skills:
- Familiarity with the following systems and interfaces:
- Viper E911
- Fire Records Management System (RMS)
- Police Records Management System (RMS)
