Role: Communications Strategist New System Rollout, Utilities
Location: Richmond, VA
Duration: 14-15 months
Primarily onsite with occasional remote work.
Statement of Work (SOW):
Develop comprehensive communications for the new system rollout
Create and distribute internal and external communication materials including draft press release, internal /external newsletters / bill inserts, draft social media posts, etc.
Draft messaging for various audiences including executives, key stakeholders, elected officials, etc.
Develop content that aligns with the strategic plan, branding, tone, etc..
Develop customer handbook
Develop messaging for new account number conversion, account lookup tool, community engagement events, etc.
Develop message / customer letters for customer templates and other system messaging
Develop messaging for organizational change management (OCM) /readiness
Provide support as needed with other communications deliverables
i. Project objectives:
Ensure schedule, scope and budget are maintained.
Develop transparent, accurate and reliable information
iv. Performance standards:
Minimum 5 years of experience in a senior communications or public relations role, preferably for a water, gas, or other utility.
Expertise writing for c-suite audiences.
Strong writing and editing skills, with the ability to create clear and compelling messages
Excellent organizational and project management skills
Proficiency in digital communication tools and platforms
Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
Strong interpersonal skills; great teamwork /team player
Experience managing change communication initiatives is a plus
Bilingual (English, Spanish) with ability to write and speak fluently, is a plus
Intermediate expert level in Microsoft Office Suite, Teams, Forms, Adobe
