Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Linux Administrator to assist in managing and maintaining the CCCS Linux system in a high-performance computing environment. This role will involve system administration tasks, installation and maintenance of operating system software, managing EMC storage and backup solutions, and supporting virtualization tools.
Key Responsibilities:
- Administer and maintain large-scale Linux systems in a multi-vendor enterprise environment.
- Perform installation, configuration, patching, and troubleshooting of Linux servers.
- Support CCCS Linux system installation and provide project management assistance.
- Manage EMC VNX SAN storage, Avamar/Data Domain backup solutions, and related infrastructure.
- Ensure security compliance, process accounting, and script programming for automation.
- Work with virtualization tools including VMware.
- Monitor system performance using tools like Nagios and resolve system issues proactively.
- Maintain networking configurations, ensuring strong familiarity with TCP/IP and high-speed proprietary interconnects.
- Assist in Red Hat Linux kernel patching and rebuilding.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or a related field.
- 1-2 years of experience in Linux system administration in an enterprise environment.
- Hands-on experience with Linux servers, security, and scripting.
- Proficiency in EMC storage management and backup solutions.
- Competent networking skills with knowledge of TCP/IP and high-speed interconnects.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous experience managing large-scale Red Hat Linux environments.
- Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE) certification.
- Experience with virtualization tools (VMware, Avamar/Data Domain, Nagios, etc.).
