About the Job
This position requires an experienced System Administrator to provide Tier 1 (Help Desk) and Tier 2 (Escalation) problem identification, diagnosis, and resolution of problems. The ideal candidate will have expertise in configuring and managing UNIX and Windows operating systems, installing/loads operating system software, troubleshooting, maintaining integrity, and configuring network components.
The successful candidate will also be responsible for optimizing system operations and resource utilization, performing system capacity analysis and planning, and providing detailed analysis and feedback to agency management and internal customers for escalated tickets. Additionally, experience with customer tools for documenting and managing security compliance is highly desired.
Required Skills and Qualifications
A Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline from an accredited college or university is required. Five (5) years of additional SA experience may be substituted for a bachelor's degree. The ideal candidate will have expert-level installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting experience with RedHat Enterprise Linux (RHEL). They should also be familiar with security measures mandated for government systems processing highly sensitive information.
