What are the responsibilities and job description for the Car Detailing Manager - Team Builder, Trainer, Lead Detailer position at Maverick Car Company?
Come take the lead of our new detail shop! We’re searching for the rare combination of an experienced automotive detailer, with management experience, and a people-first leadership approach. So if you know detailing, and you love leading, training and developing others—here's an opportunity where you get to build and train your own team, in a new division of a company, and still get your hands dirty.
WHO WE ARE
4x winners of Idaho's Best and Best of the Treasure Valley, Maverick is a car dealership that doesn’t act like one. Our customers feel the difference, rating us 4.9 out of 5 on Google in over 1,800 reviews! They love the experience they have and keep coming back and bringing their friends. As a result, we’ve continued growing since 2008. We first expanded in 2009, again in 2011, built an awesome new facility in 2017, and just expanded our service facility and added a NEW DETAIL SHOP. We love what we do and constantly hear feedback from our customers, like this:
“Without a doubt the most revolutionary dealership I’ve ever had the pleasure to deal with. I wanted to take the time to fully communicate how incredible these people really are.” — Google Review
And…
“AMAZING… How incredibly lucky we were to find the car of my dreams at a dealership that breaks all standards. The finest car dealer I have ever had the privilege to work with.” — Google Review
THE OPPORTUNITY
We just opened a new detailing shop as part of our recent service expansion. We have two full time detailers now, and we’re looking for the right person to take the lead in building out this new division of our company and maximizing this new space. This role involves building and leading a team of detailers, designing and improving processes, and serving as trainer and lead detailer as well. Your primary responsibility will be to care for your team and inspire them to do their best work, every day, every car, for every client!
Currently our detailing is mostly for internal vehicles that will be for sale—about 25 vehicles/week now, and looking to grow to 40 per week. The right leader will get to expand this into retail detailing as well, for many of our clients wanting this service from the Maverick Team they’ve come to trust—building the team and increasing the opportunity for growth even further.
We’re looking for someone who wants to feel great about the work they do, the service they provide, and the awesome team they’re building.
WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR
We’re looking for a track record of advancement in leadership/management experience, along with some serious detailing knowledge, skills, and experience. Most importantly, we’ll be looking for stellar references from the others you’ve led, highlighting how you’ve helped them learn and grow. If you don’t have these types of references, we probably won’t get very far, as this is our top priority.
Here’s some more specific things we’ll be looking for:
- A history of advancement in automotive detailing
- A proven track record of effectively leading and developing others
- Mastery of details and logistics, including improving and documenting processes to enhance quality and efficiency.
If this is you, and you're looking for the right place to continue your leadership career, where you get to build your own team with a progressive and supportive company, then this is your place! We hope you’ll join us as we continue to grow and do awesome things in the sometimes 'not-so-awesome' auto industry.
