Summary

The Storm & Safety Coordinator is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining safety policies and procedures while also managing storm preparedness and response efforts. This role ensures compliance with local, state, and federal regulations while fostering a culture of safety and emergency readiness within the organization. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, the ability to work under pressure, and a commitment to maintaining the highest safety standards.

Responsibilities

Safety Management :

Assist in developing and implementing safety policies and procedures in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.

Conduct regular safety audits and inspections to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance.

Assist with safety training and education to employees, including new hire orientations and ongoing training.

Investigate accidents, incidents, and near-misses to determine root causes and implement corrective actions.

Maintain accurate records of safety-related activities, including training, inspections, and incident reports.

Collaborate with management and employees to promote a culture of safety and continuous improvement.

Storm Response & Emergency Preparedness :

Implement storm response plans and procedures.

Coordinate with internal teams and external agencies to ensure effective storm preparedness and response.

Manage resource allocation, including personnel, equipment, and materials, during storm events.

Conduct post-storm assessments and debriefs to identify areas for improvement.

Maintain accurate records of storm-related activities and expenses.

Provide training and support to employees on storm response protocols and safety.

All other duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university preferred. Preferably with a major in emergency management, safety, construction, engineering, or the similar discipline.

Prior familiarity with emergency preparedness and construction.

1-3 years of direct experience in a safety management, storm response, or related field a plus.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Must be able to travel to storm events which can range from 1 to 3-week durations, including weekends and long shifts.

Any related certifications in project management, or safety are a plus.

Successful completion of pre-employment drug & alcohol and background check requirements.
