GENERAL PURPOSE OF JOB: Entry level position, responsible for the operation and quality on one (1) machine that produces capsules. Also responsible for any assistance within quad assigned.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Must be able to read and understand capsule boxing SOP’s
- Must be able to read and understand quality procedures and SOP’s
- Responsible for monitoring assigned machine
- Responsible for the boxing of capsules
- Perform any side work within quad
- Cleanup and assist machine operators as needed
- Report any incidents or near misses that may affect the Safety, Health, or the Environment.
- Acquire knowledge of operations and equipment, instrumentation, operation processes, etc.
QUALIFICATIONS:
· Ability to work safely in a fast-paced industrial environment.
· Ability to work well with others and contribute to the organization’s goals.
· Ability to communicate effectively with co-workers, leads, supervisors and key staff.
· Ability to manage multiple demands at the same time.
· Familiarity with hand tools and basic measurement devices.
· Good hand/eye coordination.
· Must be mechanically inclined
· Must be detail oriented
· Must be able to stand for at least eight (8) hours a day
· Must be flexible with work schedule and be available for overtime (as needed)
EDUCATION, TRAINING AND/OR RELATED EXPERIENCE: High School or GED equivalent formal education. Must be able to pass the entry level checklist/skills.
REASONING COMPETENCY: Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
LANGUAGE COMPETENCY: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to communicate effectively with coworkers and management, by giving and receiving information and feedback. Must have strong written and verbal English communication skills.
MATHEMATICAL COMPETENCY: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
SAFETY HAZARDS: Burns, cuts, pinch points, dropped objects, foreign object (eye), struck (head), skin irritation (solvent), trips &/or falls (power cords, etc.)
DRESS CODE/PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT (PPE): Must be able to pass DMV eye examination. No open toe shoes – recommend work boots with good support, non-slip soles and steel toes; no loose clothing (that can be caught machinery); shirts with sleeves; safety glasses required when performing tasks with airborne particulates, such as blowing out machines; ear plugs recommended. Long hair must be tied back or netted; no jewelry that can be caught in machinery or equipment.
TYPICAL NOISE LEVEL: Industrial_ Loud – earplugs required
