**This position will manage domicile locations in the Colorado area, with additional nearby states to be determined.**
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Lead a regional team by providing clarity of vision, prioritizing resources, facilitating alignment of the team, setting high expectations, inspiring commitment, encouraging mutual support, and enabling development opportunities
- Provide daily direction and coaching to improve driver retention
- Act as the driver advocate with internal departments to answer driver questions and resolve driver concerns and issues
- Direct retail fuel drivers in developing and implementing best practices, measuring operational efficiencies, continuously improving productivity and achieving operational standards of excellence
- Ensure coordination of dispatch communications with Customers, Suppliers, and Drivers
- Manage the P&L of the region and determine trends and areas of opportunity
- Advise others on cost control methods, and resolve budgetary issues
- Coordinate with Lead Drivers to manage the performance of region personnel, including performance appraisals, continuous feedback, and disciplinary actions as needed
- Train drivers and staff regarding prevention of accidents, compliance issues, and performance
- Coordinate with Lead Drivers and Dispatch to manage the maintenance of all equipment in the assigned region
- Ensure necessary driver and equipment safety records are maintained and prepared according to established guidelines
- Ensure training needs are met for drivers
- Participate in the full-cycle talent acquisition process for their assigned areas
- Maintain a flexible schedule in reaction to business needs; weekends and night-time hours with overnight travel may be required
- Additional responsibilities as assigned
Qualification: Experience
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in the transportation industry; previous leadership experience required
Qualifications: Competencies
- Knowledge of DOT regulatory requirements (local, state, federal)
- A current CDL with professional driving experience is a plus
- Experience with Microsoft Office suite preferred
- Ability to work with others to achieve shared goals while taking responsibility for individual actions achieving consistent results
- A knowledge base in strategic thought leadership; P&L management and budget development; achieving financial results; analysis and problem-solving; and influencing for success
- A track record of looking beyond the obvious to identify root causes and simplifying complicated processes finding ways to improve work processes
