Perinatal mental health issues are the #1 complication of childbirth and the leading cause of maternal mortality. Mavida Health is a comprehensive, specialized virtual mental health care offering for the path to parenthood.
We are looking to contract with a part-time Business Development Consultant (10 to 15 hours weekly) to support organizational growth, patient acquisition, professional relationship management, and brand awareness. You will bring the passion, grit, and organization that will play a critical role in shaping the direction of our company and helping individuals find resources.
What are we looking for?
Business development is a key component of our organizational growth strategy. While we have a multi-channel approach, relationships and referrals from professionals such as OB / GYN doctors and pediatricians are primary drivers of customer acquisition. We are looking for someone with a passion for quality of care above all else, and who comes with experience building relationships with professional referral sources to drive business. Ideal candidates have existing connections in OB / GYN, Pediatrics, Family Medicine, Maternal Fetal Medicine, Mental Health, Labor and Delivery, Midwifery, and other related and similar professions.

What is the role?
The business development consultant will :
- Drive business in the form of referrals to Mavida Health services from professional referral sources including but not limited to :
- Obstetricians (OB / GYNs)
- Certified Nurse-Midwives
- Certified Midwives
- Certified Professional Midwives
- Doulas
- Family Practice Physicians
- Perinatal Social Workers
- Physical Therapists
- Other Mental Health Providers
- Engage in all stages of the relationship development process including prospecting, closing, and account management through multiple channels.
- Track and document all prospecting and customer management activities using Hubspot including phone calls, emails, social media engagement, meetings, events, etc.
- Support referent and customer needs as they arise.
- Share trends, updates, roadblocks, successes, and other pertinent data with leadership regarding the market, our customers, and your success.
- Meet weekly high-impact activity (in-person meetings, events, meaningful exchanges) and touchpoint (phone calls, emails, brief exchanges, drop-offs, etc.) goals. Weekly high-impact activity goals are 10 to 15 and weekly touchpoint goals are 40 to 50. Activities and touchpoints need to be with qualified prospects and customers who have ability and need to refer.
- Meet monthly referral and admission goal ramp - details and goals to be discussed with leadership.
- Engage Mavida Health team for key meetings and opportunities with stakeholders and customers to build awareness and trust, and drive business.
- Support team in customer experience needs and opportunities as they arise by communicating challenges, troubleshooting, working with customers, and problem-solving.
- Be comfortable wearing multiple hats - even those that don’t fit squarely and traditionally within your job description, because hey, we’re a startup!
