Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Nursing Assistant to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will provide essential support to nursing staff and assist patients with daily living activities. This role is vital in ensuring high-quality patient care, particularly in a long-term care setting or Level I Trauma Center. The Nursing Assistant will work closely with patients, demonstrating empathy and professionalism while fostering a supportive environment.
Duties
- Assist patients with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and eating.
- Provide basic patient care under the supervision of nursing staff, including monitoring vital signs and reporting changes in patient conditions.
- Lift and transfer patients safely using proper techniques and equipment.
- Support individuals with disabilities by promoting independence and dignity in their care.
- Maintain accurate medical documentation and records as required.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient service.
- Assist in the preparation of patients for procedures in the Operating Room (OR) when necessary.
- Utilize Epic or similar electronic health record systems for documentation and communication.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a Nursing Assistant training program is preferred.
- Knowledge of physiology and basic medical terminology is advantageous.
- Experience in long-term care settings is a plus but not mandatory.
- Ability to lift and move patients safely while adhering to safety protocols.
- Strong interpersonal skills with a focus on patient service and care.
- Familiarity with medical documentation processes is beneficial.
- Must be able to work effectively as part of a team while also being capable of working independently when required.
