What are the responsibilities and job description for the Shipping and Receiving Clerk position at MAX ART PRODUCTIONS?
We are seeking a Shipping and Receiving Clerk.
Duties include, but are not limited to:
- Scheduling shipments and logistics, verifying the contents of outgoing shipments
- Preparing and printing shipping labels corresponding to shipping needs
- Determining methods of shipping an, preparing and printing shipping labels and affixing shipping labels with identifying information
- Packing containers with fillers, spacers and protective padding and securing packages as required
- Examining and verifying that outgoing shipments meet specifications and adhere to environmental systems and management procedures
- Documenting and sending returned shipments of damaged, defective or unsold products to Returned-Goods Receiving Clerk
- Taking and managing inventory and keeping the area secured
- Organizing and maintaining the shipping and receiving area through cataloging and cleaning on a scheduled basis
- Maintaining all computerized shipping and distribution records and compiling reports for senior management
- Properly accounting for the location of incoming goods
- Assuring no damaged items are sent or received
- Comparing packing lists to company purchase orders and ensuring that the products in each delivery match the packing list
- Packaging products for return to vendors and filling out any paperwork necessary
Required skills and qualifications:
- Ability to operate a hand truck to move and convey materials and hoist packages. Ability to operate a forklift is a plus.
- Excellent time management, administrative and organization skills
- Communication and interpersonal skills for troubleshooting shipping issues and customer complaints
- Knowledge of shipping procedures
- Ability to assemble cardboard or wooden containers and crates
- Strong computer skills and math skills
- Detail-oriented
- Ability to maintain accurate records
- Ability to lift 50 pounds or more
- Good communication and organizational skills
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $15.00 - $18.00 per hour
